On July the 20th 1969, I was on my 20th day of Ranger school, earth was kicking my ass and winning. I wasn't aware that man had landed on the moon until I watched the second landing, Apollo 12, November 19, 1969, while recovering from malaria at 5th Convalescence Center, Cam Ranh Bay, S. Vietnam. Apollo 12 Audio From what I remember, the astronauts seemed goofy and irreverent in relation to the honor bestowed upon them and the fact that most of the world was watching. Nearly six months ago, my administration took office amid the most severe economic downturn since the Great Depression. At the time, we were losing, on average, 700,000 jobs a month. And many feared that our financial system was on the verge of collapse.
The swift and aggressive action we took in those first few months has helped pull our financial system and our economy back from the brink. We took steps to restart lending to families and businesses, stabilize our major financial institutions, and help homeowners stay in their homes and pay their mortgages. We also passed the most sweeping economic recovery plan in our nation's history.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was not expected to restore the economy to full health on its own but to provide the boost necessary to stop the free fall. ...

Posted by bobo4u on the Smirking Chimp regarding Republican sociopathy:
I think the explanation you're looking for is much broader than a singular psychosis. The nature of evil--in a non-religious sense--encompasses more than one diagnosable disorder. You'd also need to add a pinch of narcissism, and a touch of paranoia as well.
But, it is an interesting topic to dissect. If anything, I view republicanism as a cult of people lacking in the ability to be introspective. Or as M. Scott Peck calls 'em, "People of the Lie". I stole the following from someone's web page. See if you notice any familiar traits among the republicans you know...
